It has come to our attention that a notice regarding ethanol-blended petrol, purportedly bearing the logos of various Oil Marketing Companies, is circulating on social media. Please note that this is an old, unauthorized message that has been circulating for some time and does not reflect our official communications. IndianOil supplies fuels strictly in accordance with IS 17021:2018 specifications and all applicable quality standards. E20 fuel is a homogeneous, scientifically validated product specifically designed for safe vehicular use. Although ethanol is naturally hygroscopic, modern vehicles are engineered with sealed fuel systems to prevent water ingress. The introduction of E20 petrol in India followed extensive testing and validation by automobile manufacturers and industry experts. Since its rollout, there have been no credible reports of engine failures or performance issues directly attributable to ethanol blending. E20 is safe for use in all compatible vehicles.
