Since its inception in 1965, IndianOil has played a pivotal role in India's transition to cleaner fuels. Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) took the center stage of this revolution, and the brand Indane emerged as a beacon of modern cooking in Indian households. Indane has now become a super brand, dominating nearly 170 million kitchens across the nation. Remarkably, every second cooking gas connection in India is an Indane, making it one of the largest packed-LPG brands globally. IndianOil stands as the second-largest marketeer of LPG worldwide. Indane LPG offers a range of pack sizes tailored to meet diverse consumer needs. The 5 kg and 14.2 kg cylinders primarily serve domestic purposes, constituting nearly half of all gas distributed. On the other hand, the 19 kg, 47.5 kg, and 425 kg Jumbo cylinders cater to industrial and commercial consumption. Indane also offers specialized product of Nanocut for industrial use and Xtratej for commercial use. In recent times, Indane introduced Composite cylinders of 5 kg and 10 kg, crafted from fiber composite material, featuring a trendy and translucent appearance. To cater to the evolving demands of LPG users and enhance customer convenience, IndianOil launched Chhotu, a 5 kilograms Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder, becoming the first PSU (Public Sector Undertaking) oil company in India to adopt the international model of making cooking gas cylinders available at corner stores. This initiative benefits migrant populations in urban and semi-urban areas without local address proof, individuals with lower gas consumption, and commercial establishments with limited space.
