Thrilled to welcome the inspiring para archer Sheetal Devi, to the IndianOil family today! She becomes the first para athlete to join the IndianOil family and also our youngest sports star.
Sheetal has been an incredible sportsperson with an impressive tally of medals, won at the recent Asian Para Games and other championships, and has recently been crowned as the world Number 1 para-archer. She’s in fact the world’s first armless archer.
But even more than these laurels, this young, unassuming 16 year old has been an extraordinary role model for one and all.
For me, she stands as the ultimate symbol of human courage and resilience. With her determination and perseverance, she has etched a story of excellence and success, worth emulating. I can say that the privilege of witnessing and supporting such an incredible journey is heartening, making this one of the most memorable days for me.
The occasion was made special as we were at the Amar Jyoti Research and Rehabilitation Centre in New Delhi, helmed by Padmashri Dr. Uma Tuli and her passionate team. The team for the last four decades has been providing holistic, inclusive education and care to the specially abled kids. Being cheered on by the vibrant children, Sheetal was a huge inspiration for them, as we came together on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
