"Centuries of socially conditioned barriers, and cultural roadblocks notwithstanding, women today are embarking on inspirational journeys and changing socio-cultural landscapes in fascinating ways. Take the example of #IndianOil's daughter Nainaben Goradia. Yesterday, we celebrated her selection as the Deputy Superintendent of Police through Gujarat Public Service Commission. Naina's inspiring journey started from IndianOil's Township of Vadinar. Her father, IOCian Mr Ganga Mala Parmar, was then employed as a Driver with the Corporation. Later, the family moved to IndianOil's Viramgam Colony and stayed for over a decade.
I am proud to say that in IndianOil, each individual is an indispensable part of our family, irrespective of his position in the pyramid. Naina aspired to scale great academic and social heights for her family, and their dreams resonated with all the IOCians. Yesterday, as I spoke to her, she fondly recalled her growing up years, surrounded by the love and support of the IndianOil family. Naina elaborated how her journey of academic excellence was riddled with early challenges as private schools in the vicinity initially refused her admission as her parents were not literate. However, with the steadfast support of her father's colleagues, she got admitted to a coveted school. She was always a bright student and was a consistent topper all through her school life. Naina also spoke about how the close-knit IndianOil family would constantly guide her till she completed her Engineering from Bhavnagar University. Later, she did her MA in Economics from Pune, Maharashtra, where she settled down after her marriage. An urge to serve society and enhance women's social safety inspired her to pursue the Gujarat Public Service Commission, and her selection as DSP is a testimony to her indefatigable spirit.
Our children are an integral part of the IndianOil fraternity. A few days back, another daughter of IndianOil, Arya, whose father is an IndianOil Pump Attendant, made us proud by securing admission to IIT. Their success, especially as remarkable as Naina and Arya's, stands tall as an inspiration for everyone. Also, as an engineer, Naina could have led a successful and content life. But her eagerness to learn continuously and her zeal to contribute towards social welfare inspired her phenomenal rise.
In my three and half decades as an IOCian, what has enriched me most is the familial bond that connects every member of the IndianOil fraternity. And that bond extends beyond the confines of the workplace to the family members of IOCians who are an integral part of the Corporation's journey. And more importantly, that bond endures well beyond one's working tenure. Because "Once an IOCian, Always an IOCian". Ganga ParmarJi's eagerness to share his happiness with his IndianOil family & the joy we feel for the inspirational success of our girl; both are priceless. This is the connection that makes IndianOil a special place to thrive and grow." - Mr. S M Vaidya, Chairman, IndianOil #IndianOil
