"I was at our Wadala Terminal in Mumbai today to commemorate the 2nd #IndianOilSafetyDay, with the senior leadership, heads of the Safety teams and IOCians. It was an occasion to pledge our collective and enduring commitment to uphold and strengthen the culture of safety every step of the way - across installations and stakeholder groups. Beginning with the operations, to the transportation of petroleum products and right upto the homes of our customers, safety remains a paramount and non negotiable tenet for us. The pursuit towards excellence drives us to constantly innovate and integrate technology in strengthening the safety quotient. It’s heartening that our pioneering initiatives for road safety, that included awareness and health campaigns for tank truck drivers, minimising night driving, among others, have yielded positive outcomes, leading to a drastic reduction in accidents. It deeply saddens me, especially knowing that our youth, aged 15 to 29, are the most affected. It’s really upto each one of us to make a difference. Raising awareness, talking about mental health issues, supporting our friends and colleagues through tough times, encouraging them to seek help and igniting hope in the bounties of life, can heal a soul. "The warmth, hope, and boundless love of ‘Nani Maria Society’ in Roing, Arunachal Pradesh, on my visit there yesterday, was truly a heartwarming and humbling experience for me. It brought perspective to the sheer magnitude of #selfless service that some souls embark upon. The realisation that it was Mother Teresa's birthday made the day more special. I am talking of Mrs Desai Linggi, fondly known as 'Nani' or Mother, who stands as a beacon of hope. Her two decade-long journey as a social worker and child rights activist is nothing short of inspiring. She has fearlessly combated child trafficking, reached out to the abandoned, uplifted the specially abled, and stood strong with juvenile rape victims. Her boundless #compassion has lit up the lives of hundreds of kids, and I was privileged to witness these blooms of transformation firsthand. What is incredible is that #NaniDesai initiated this mission single-handedly, reinforcing the power of ONE, which I strongly believe in. Her life long dedication to society's most vulnerable children speaks of an indomitable spirit that only a few possess. Every laugh, every hopeful gaze, and every life she has touched stands testament to her profound impact. While organisations, institutions work towards social stewardship, the endeavours of individuals like Nani Desai anchor our beliefs in the power of love and the goodness of #humanity.
